Etsy was one of the entities keeping money at SVB and many sellers were not paid on Friday. Instead of issuing a direct statement, putting a notice on seller's dashboards, or
emailing us, they made a single, buried post in the Etsy forums under "technical issues" (only a very small % of sellers visit the forums at all, and only sellers that missed a payment got direct communication).Â

I figure if I had to go digging for information after reading in the news that Etsy was affected, a lot of you probably didn't know, either.

While I hope (hope being the operative word there) that things will straighten out in the near future, this isn't the first payment debacle Etsy has had, and their lack of communication directly to its sellers is also no better than the previous times issues have happened. Of course the SVB collapse was not Etsy's fault, but they
are wholly responsible for their poor communication to their sellers, and the lack of reassurance and resolution for these issues.

All this makes me grateful that I have NightBlooming.com... I can only
imagine how much worse the stress and uncertainty would have been if this had happened a year ago when NightBlooming was totally beholden to Etsy.Â
